For the last two weeks of the Phlebotomy Training Certification Program, students will start their hands on clinicals.
Health Science Practitioner Program
A phlebotomist represents the laboratory team, an essential part of specimen collections, processing, and testing that aids in disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment monitoring. They must display a professional demeanor at all times, as they are often the patients only contact to the medical laboratory. Phlebotomist must work well with others, under pressure, and communicate effectively. They must be able to face challenges, and calm down patients. This program meets the needs of students with NO PRIOR medical experience with hands on training lab time. The goal of this course is to introduce students to the past and present of the theory of phlebotomy and its necessary laboratory skills to work in the field. Students will take away the correlation between test requisitions and their corresponding test tubes, and knowledge of pre-examination variables that may affect the quality of specimens. Upon completion, students will be empowered with the principals and foundation of phlebotomy that will help them feel confident in testing for their certifications. Our Program Coordinator will assist students with resumes, interview tips, and job searching. Graduates are to look at Medical Staffing agency specializing in the placement of medical staff in health care facilities, physicians' offices, clinics, and hospitals. Job placement is not guaranteed, however Career Advancement Medical Center, we'll put forward its best efforts in helping graduates secure a job.

Capillary and Heel Stick

The heel stick method is the most commonly performed invasive procedure in neonatal intensive care units, and primarily used to draw capillary blood from newborns and diabetics. Upon completion, students will be skilled in all techniques necessary to perform a successful finger or heel stick. This certification is available to healthcare professionals who have successfully completed previous medical training and have up-to-date certifications.

ActiVein industry experts teaches technicians how to conduct a thorough health history questionnaire and perform a variety of medical exams to assess patients' health and identify potential health issues.
Our field examiner credentialing platform teaches how to get a patient's biometrics, height-weight-BMI measurements, waist-hip circumference measurements, accurate blood pressure readings, respiration, and measures of oxygen concentration in red blood cells.

who have successfully completed their curriculum, and earned their certifications are invited to attend clinicals, on given dates and times, for the August 2022 to August 2023 calendar year. Once students have completed their programs of choice,they are to revisit the center's website, and click on the link provided, selecting a clinical date! Students enrolled in the platforms listed above can select, and participate in the clinicals up to four times.
